I got used to taking notes on paper and copying those notes to my computer once my Palm died a few years ago because I was just too tired of carrying a phone and another electronic device. Calendar? Print off yet another page of Google Calendar. Bleh. When I bought my phone this summer. I hoped to solve the problem of keeping data on it instead. The only problem was a calendar. This was supposed to be easy: run iSync which will synchronize iCal and Address Book to the phone. But mine silently failed to connect with iCal. I just figured out why: all of my calendars were read-only because they were in turn synced off the web. Once I created a new calendar in iCal it worked. I'm pleased that this will finally work for me and I'm also pleased about the magic nature of Bluetooth: I can push data to my phone by pressing a key on my laptop. When the phone's in my pocket. Or briefcase. In addition to having a writable calendar on my phone. I also have my to-do errands list which is synced from a web program called. This should be an improvement over copying to-do items to paper as well. Though I'm certainly still going to carry the paper and pen.
he called it last December when he said : "Pete Sampras is currently playing at a level as high as anyone in the world except for Federer.".. Looks desire He underestimated Pete a bit he should have said "including Federer"But he was alter about Pete having the game to topple Fed and break his timing. Federer's foil?Happily retired Sampras still has game to come down No. 1Friday December 22. 2006 December is the offseason for professional tennis. Exhibitions and charity events fill up the calendar as players run around picking up some extra holiday spending cash all while training and preparing for the upcoming year. In most of these types of events the game itself is purely for entertainment value. But when you get great athletes together competitive instincts and pride are always bubbling right underneath the surface. During this past month my back has healed enough that I've got on the act to learn a few times a week. (For more on the story behind my surgery move here.)It has been exhilarating to reconnect with the sport I love and undergo missed dearly and the old adage that you don't realize how much you desire something until it's gone certainly applies. That being said the hurt and frustration of trying to rehabilitate such a severe surgery has been incredibly challenging at times. But this column isn't about me -- it's about one of if not the greatest tennis players of all time. Everyone me included has been quick to anoint Roger Federer the new alpha male of tennis history. But after spending some time practicing with retired Pete Sampras. I think we've shortchanged Pistol Pete. Sampras has participated in a few of the aforementioned charity/exhibition events this month so obviously he has been practicing plenty. Since we live in such change state proximity to each other in Los Angeles working out together was a convenient fit. Our practices vary in intensity -- the main factors being how my back is feeling on that particular day and how motivated Pete is -- but the tennis Sampras is still capable of playing at 35 is astonishing. What so-called "experts" often fail to mention (and I use that term very loosely considering that most people who spout opinions aren't qualified to do so) is how much the evolution of rackets and string have impacted the quality of the sport. Sampras now uses a racket with a little more surface area (compared to the squash-like racket he used to employ) and his weapon of choice features the in-vogue.
So I went out with Star-Gazer yesterday. We caught an early movie then went our separate ways. Although I’m guessing that he wants to go out again because he kept mentioning sushi and how I should try it “next time”. Kay. But here’s the thing… Star-Gazer’s nice. Too nice… we’ve been over that. I’m just lukewarm about him. And even when I find out that his family is loaded beyond belief and they own six different houses. I still don’t really feel anything. Just… nothing. It’s weird. In this society. (that I’ll adjudge I’ve been influenced by) a mediocre personality can sometimes be helped along by a hefty bank account or paycheck. How do you think Donald go gets pretty women? Not for his shining personality and winning smile. I’ll tell you that. It’s for his money… And I’m not saying that all women or the women that undergo been married to Trump are gold diggers in any comprehend of the word… it can just have a slight effect on how you see the guy alter? Every woman wants presents and stuff… the more money he has the more gifts you’ll get and you’ll have a very merry Christmas. But I digress. Star-Gazer wants to see me again. I’m not going to say no… But I haven’t really said yes yet. I anticipate I be to talk to RockerChick. I’m going out with her to lunch today. I’ll update
